Winter

The Grand Mesa Visitor
Center is open for the public during the winter.
Look for a snow-covered log building on the shore of Cobbet
Lake just off Highway 65.
Come warm yourself by the pellet stove. Staff is available to
help you plan outdoor recreation experiences such as cross-country
skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing while you visit
the National Forest.

A-N-G Fishing Store
This outdoor
retail store, specializes in fishing equipment sales and rentals and
is co-located inside the Grand Mesa Visitor Center for the winter of
2011. The store offers coffee, beverages and pastries as well as ice
fishing, and Nordic ski equipment rentals. Other visitor services
include fishing and hunting license sales, and U.S. Forest Service
maps sales. Guided
snowmobile tours and ice fishing trips are also available. A-n- G’s
fly-fishing Guide Service operates under a special use permit
through the Grand Mesa National Forest.

staffing the information desk starting on Memorial Day, May 30th.

Summer weekend programs will resume
June 18th.

Nature Association store will open for the summer starting
Memorial Day.

Located in the
Visitor Center, the store provides an extensive collection of
books for sale to help you learn more about local history, and
the natural wonders of the forest.

There is
something for everyone such as tee-shirts and sweatshirts
depicting the Grand Mesa National Forest

And stuffed
wildlife animals and toys for the kids.
