PLATEAU VALLEY AREA
At the extreme north end of the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway lies a fascinating region that blends the high-altitude Grand Mesa with the ancient river canyon of the Colorado River. Desert sandstone canyons carved by Plateau Creek were inhabited for thousands of years by the desert and mountain archaic tribes who lived within miles of the important Colorado River system. |
