PARDI GRAS

A winter sampler of fun. demonstrations, free lessons, alpine skiing, sledding, snowmobile tours, Nordic skiing, races, snowshoeing, and snow sculptures are all part of the frosty fun. Funny wigs, costumes and of course, bright  beads, masks and toys can be found on skiers in the forest.

Don't miss the Sons of Norway Barenløpit, sponsored by the Grand Mesa Nordic Council. This is the second annual special ski day for kids 3 to 13. Registration is 10:00 am at the Skyway Nordic Ski Area. Participants must bring their own equipment. Call Ron at 249-1869 for more information.

Powderhorn Ski Resort will host the 8th Annual Ski Challenge to benefit Colorado Discover Ability, Powderhorn's Adaptive Ski Program. $50 per skier includes lift ticket. Registration is from 8 to 9:30 am, races from 10 am to 3 pm. Silent Auction & a Ski Challenge Party at 4 pm. Call 970-268-5700 for more information.

The Pardi Gras Treasure Hunt takes place at the County Line Nordic Ski Area from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Who knows what you'll find!

Mesa Lakes will offer the Moonlight Ski Special, both Friday and Saturday night. Over one mile of groomed x-country trail lit by luminarias, and special late dining. Call 970-268-5467.

Lodges provide great warm-ups or lunch and dinner options. 

 

Little Britches Rodeo
July 9, 10 AND 11, 2004

The oldest youth rodeo west of the Continental Divide features three days of rodeo, a parade, booths, and antique car show.
