Q: "IS THERE GAS AVAILABLE ON THE GRAND MESA?"
A: Great question and the answer comes from the pioneers who settled this area – BE PREPARED!! The short answer is no. No gas on the Grand Mesa at this time or in the foreseeable future. We recommend that you fill your tank prior to starting your trek. If you are on the North side of the Grand Mesa you have several choices from Grand Junction to Mesa. And on the South side of the Grand Mesa again you have stations from Delta up to Cedaredge.

Q: "WHERE CAN I GET A MAP AND BROCHURES FOR THE GRAND MESA AND THE SURROUNDING AREA?"
A:
Maps and Brochures are available at the Grand Junction Visitor Center on Horizon Drive in Grand Junction. In the town of Mesa at the Treasure House, Blink Coffee, Mesa Grande, and Sundance RV. Along the route maps and brochures are available at Powderhorn, Mesa Lakes Lodge, Grand Mesa Lodge, Thunder Mountain Lodge and the Grand Mesa Visitors Center. In the town of Cedaredge they can be found at Red Mountain Ranches, Macht/Liles real estate, the Grand Mesa Byway Welcome Center and the Cedaredge Chamber of Commerce. Most of these locations are right on the BYWAY or have good signage indicating their location. Some are available on this website.

Q: WHY DON'T I SEE ANY DEER, ELK OR MOOSE?
A: Wildlife are usually most active at dusk and dawn. That is the best time to see them and watch for them on the road. The animals are not accustomed to people and tend to stay away from areas with a lot of activity. However, drive careful they tend to show up when you least expect them, maybe around the next bend…
